Dr. Jill

As Vision Source members practicing independent optometry, Dr. Jill and Dr.  Sarah adhere to the highest standards of optometric care by providing each  patient with:

Dr. Jill Geering Matheson
Dr. Jill purchased Alaska Vision Center in 2004 after joining the practice  in 1992 as a graduate of Illinois College of Optometry. She is a member of the  Alaska Optometric Association, past president of the State of Alaska Board of  Examiners in Optometry, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Optometry.
Dr. Jill is very active in the local arts community, a proud contributor to  many local organizations, as well as being active in and past president of the Juneau  Gastineau Rotary Club.
Dr. Sarah Bixby-DuBois
Born and raised in Juneau, Dr. Sarah is happy to return to Alaska Vision  Center to provide excellent eye care in her home town.  While obtaining her  Bachelors of Marine Biology at the University of Alaska Southeast she worked as  an optometric technician at Alaska Vision Center.  Inspired by her working  experience,  she pursued her Doctorate in Optometry at the Southern  California College of Optometry where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, after  finishing rotations at SEARHC in Sitka, Wellish Vision Institute (a cataract and  refractive surgery center), and at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.   A member of the Alaska Optometric Association, Dr. Sarah enjoys spending time  with friends and family, fishing, hiking, skiing, watching the Seahawks, and  playing volleyball.  Alaska Vision Center is proud to re-welcome her as an  associate.

Cori OlsonCori

Cori Olson has been with Alaska Vision Center as a Certified paraoptometric assistant since September 2002. She had a brief absence when her husband Bryan got transferred with the U.S. Coast Guard to Coos Bay, Oregon, where she continued with her paraoptometric work. She is happy to be back for good since her husband has now retired from active duty. When she is not at the office Cori likes to go camping, skiing, fishing, and whale watching with her family in their boat. Cori has two children, Tayvn & Kelley, who also keep her busy with their activities.


Sharon Meier

Sharon is our Patient Coordinator. She is the friendly and helpful voice at the end of the phone who will be your point of initial contact with the practice.
After retiring from a career in Wisconsin, she joined Alaska Vision Center in 2012.  Sharon has four grown children and two grandchildren, all living down south.  Spending time with new friends and taking advantage of hiking trails and dinner hot-spots in town are a few of Sharon’s favorite past-times.  She looks forward to meeting you when you call or stop in!

Jessie Ray NarronJessi

Jessie Ray started at Alaska Vision Center in Nov 2010. She is anxious to learn everything there is to know about optometry and to meet all of our patients. She grew up here in Juneau, Alaska and never intends to move anywhere else. She loves to travel and meet new people and is always up to trying new and exciting things.




 Gayle Bemetz

Gayle is the Billing Specialist and insurance coordinator for Alaska Vision Center. She has been an employee of Alaska Vision Center since Oct 2010.
